The Best + Easiest Salmon Ever

This salmon is my most viral recipe ever - the video has over 11 million views on Instagram (!!!) and I have absolutely LOVED seeing so many people make it! It is truly the easiest and tastiest way to make salmon and I now make this at least once a week for salads & bowls.

I originally had this recipe in the caption of the first video I posted, and then I posted a shorter version of the video again the other day. I’ve been getting a ton of requests for the recipe in my DMs so I assume some people are having a bit of trouble finding it and wanted it to live on my website as well! I know it can be a bit annoying to read from a video caption rather than a blog post when you’re cooking, so here it is.

This is truly the best and fastest method of cooking salmon in my opinion. It’s cut into cubes, tossed in a really simple marinade and cooked in pan on the stovetop for salmon chunks that are crispy and browned on the outside, tender in the centre and just perfectly cooked every single time. Also, please know that this is barely a recipe - it’s more of a general method with some guidelines for the quantities of each ingredient, so feel free to add more or less of everything as you like! I usually eyeball it :) Hope you love this salmon as much as I do!

The Best + Easiest Salmon Ever

Ingredients

  • 1 large fillet of salmon (350-450g), skin removed + cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 1 tbsp olive or sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp tamari or soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1 clove grated garlic

  • Salt + pepper to taste

Method

Place your salmon cubes in a bowl and add all the remaining ingredients. If you like it a little sweeter or a little saltier, feel free to add a bit more honey or tamari as desired! Optional: let it marinade for 15-30 minutes if you’re prepping this ahead of time (but it can also be cooked right away).

Heat a large cast iron or nonstick skillet over medium. Once the pan is nice and hot, add your salmon cubes. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until the salmon cubes are starting to become opaque and are browned on the first side, then flip each piece and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. They should be browned on both sides and cooked through in the centre. Remove from the heat.

Serve salmon on top of rice bowls, salads or tacos. Enjoy!

Serves 2 - feel free to double or triple the recipe as needed
